In short
Consistent is not the same as identical
A strong identity is recognisable even when the logo is missing. That recognition comes from a small set of decisions — type, colour, tone, and motion — applied with discipline across every touchpoint.
The mistake is treating consistency as repetition. Brands that feel alive leave room to play: a fixed core, and flexible edges that can respond to context, campaign, and culture.
Build a system, not a style
Document the rules that matter and ignore the rest. A good system answers the questions a team asks every week, and makes the right choice the easy one.
